Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th February are planned as the first Club Dive of the year, currently the suggested Location is Plymouth as we know the site and can dive at virtually any conditions somewhere!
I would be greatful if those of you interested in going could let me know by adding comments to this article.
I will issue a Dive Card nearer the date.
cheers

This year Easter is early and falls on Friday 21st March. Originally I had planned for us to visit Falmouth once again, due to the excellent accomadation next to the dive shop and the access to Diving. However the Bunk House is now closed and Twinbrook park has been converted into a residential homes park. The cheapest B&B I can currently find is £27/night but they do not have enough places for all.
Therefore I am trying to look into other destinations and am looking for help if anyone has the time/knowledge to suggest a location with suitable accomadation.
I am currently Investigating Portland/Weymouth in Dorset- accomadation is scarce. Teigmouth in Devon, no look so far, and continuing search at Falmouth.
If anyone does have 5 mins to spare then please assist in anyway you can.
cheers

I know most of you are only thinking of your summer holidays at the moment, but as places do get booked up quickly for diving, I thought it would be good to start thinking about 2008 Venues. Easter is pretty early next year 21st~24th March. A current suggestion is to travel abroad to possibly the Med, Canaries or even Cape Verde, all which I believe are reasonably priced. Any interest or other suggestions then please let me Know. Lochaline has been submitted as a return destination for 2008, therefore the Old Post Office has been booked for Spring Bank Holiday 23rd~26th May.Days can be added on to make it a longer break if people wish, August Bank was already booked - so I am looking for other suitable destinations. I will create a dive sheet when deposits are required etc. Please let me know if you have any ideas or specific requests. Anne.

I am proposing a trip to the Red Sea in May or Sept 2008 On something nice like the Whirlwind covering the wrecks. As an idea there is a trip departing May 24th 2008 cost per person £940. I have been told that if we can get between 12 and 24 people then we can have our own boat / itinerary etc. Interested parties please let me know. I will be bringing around a blue sheet soon. Anne has taken up the baton of organising a trip to Bikini Atoll after Brad's departure to Germany. After some searching she has an offer a week on Bikini in October 2008 - the amount of slots available for Bikini are very limited. Combining this with another centre - perhaps the Phillipines - and the travel time, will probably mean 2 - 3 weeks away. Being realistic I expect the cost to be around £5000.00. Could anyone who is interested please let me know ASAP as we need to reserve the time on Bikini. Other venus / resorts can be discussed later. I am not sure of the exact web address of the company but they are called Scuba Safaris. Please reply quickly as the we will be booking this in the next week. John Moss Friday, March 30

Hi All
For those of you unlucky enough not to be on the Norway trip there is now an alternative. Northern Ireland I am looking at 3 days wreck diving local area and/or the wrecks of donegal from Portstewart (just along the coast from where we went last time). August 25th - 27th. The diving will be with Aquaholics again using their new boat (see attached). The overall cost (excluding fuel and sustenance) will be in the region of £325 This includes ferry (route to be decided), accommodation, diving and tank / weightbelts and assumes 4 people per vehicle. Crossing will be ether overnight from Liverpool or fast ferry from Stranraer. Overnight includes cabin, evening meal and breakfast each way (therefore one nights accommodation less at location). More details about crossing when i know how many people are interested. At the moment i am assuming 3 days diving, however as the main cost is getting there i would be interested in perhaps tagging another days diving on. This is August Bank Holiday and were pretty lucky there some availability (this will not last long). I need your commitment and £50 deposit ASAP. Any questions give me a ring, but please let me now know if your interested. There is no maximum number (within reason), however due to the type and depth of diving I will need to restrict it to Sport Diver and above. Also it would be best if we could fill the vehicles (4 per car) to make it as economical as possible. For more details see www.aquaholics.org Andy |
