BSAC have just updated the diver training programme, the main area's of change are as follows:
Complete update of Resuscitation Guidelines, the procedures and terminology have changed (as I circulated last year). Members currently undergoing training will learn the new procedures, for those of you who have missed the appropriate lectures or who are already qualified, I will be running a workshop one Wednesday evening. I'll let you know via this site. I would hope that everyone makes the effort to attend.

The other major change is that basic Nitrox Diver has been brought into Ocean Diver Training. Those members who are already qualified Ocean Divers or above can gain the basic Nitrox qualification by attending a Nitrox Diver Workshop which is run in-branch. Let me now via comments to this post if want to do this.

Advanced Nitrox Diver will be still be available as a SDC.

There is an opportunity to attend a PRM skills course being run by Yorkshire Region next month (before the diving season).
Date 11 Feb (1 day), venue Pontefract.
If you want to attend (I am attending to refresh my skills) contact them direct, see attachment for application form.

There will be similar courses in our region later in the year but these are in the diving season, why not refresh your skills before the season starts.

Yorkshire region are holding a PRM course 11 February 2007
This one day course should take place near Pontifract (although this is to be confirmed).
Can I encourage you to enroll, you need to be Sport Diver or above.
For the Dive Leader students this also means you will get DT9, DO5, DT11 signed off.
It wouldn't hurt anyone else to attend as even if you've done it in the past there are always new techniques to learn and if your a Sport diver you may still have to get involved in rescue management.

Reason I'm suggesting Yorkshire is the the EM course is end of April and we may be diving.

Will keep you posted, but if you are interested can you email me to let let me know.

Well done Martyn, Stuart, Henry, Annie and Sue!
They all passed their Oxygen Administration Assessment at the weekend.

Shame the other 11 people who put their name on list didn't take the opportunity of attending this skill development course.
